On Monday, 25 August 2014, in the evening at around 22:00, in Kaunas, on Šaldytuvų street near No. 43, an Opel Vectra hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 20-year-old driver of the Opel (2 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations and failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.31‰ blood alcohol). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, the weather was clear, the road surface was contaminated. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
