On Thursday, 28 August 2014, in the afternoon at 15:43, in Telšių district municipality, on the Žarėnai–Varniai regional road (kilometre 10.30), a BMW 523i E39 registered in Great Britain rolled over. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by an unidentified person, who failed to choose a safe speed. He fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
