On Sunday, 31 August 2014, in the afternoon at around 16:00, in Marijampolės municipality, on the Mauručiai–Vinčai–Puskelniai national road (kilometre 22.84), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved an Opel Astra, a Toyota Corolla and a Volkswagen Passat. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 19-year-old driver of the Opel (1 year of driving experience), who violated overtaking rules. All drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
