On Tuesday, 9 September 2014, in the evening at 22:20, in Švenčionių district municipality, Rakauskų village, on the Vosiūnai–Rakauskai–Salomenka regional road (kilometre 6.23), a Ford Probe ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 32-year-old driver of the Ford, who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
