On Thursday, 30 October 2014, at night at around 4:00, in Plungės district municipality, Platelių town, on Naujoji street near No. 6, a BMW 525 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 25-year-old driver of the BMW (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He fled the scene. The driver was sober.
