On Sunday, 30 November 2014, at night at 3:33, in Prienų district municipality, on the Kaunas–Prienai–Alytus national road (kilometre 28.30), a Toyota Avensis Verso hit an obstacle. Two people were injured — a 47-year-old passenger of the Toyota (hospitalized) and a 56-year-old passenger of the Toyota (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 45-year-old driver of the Toyota (23 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
