On Saturday, 6 December 2014, in the afternoon at 12:11, in Vilniaus district municipality, on the Pilaitė–Čekoniškės–Sudervė regional road (kilometre 8.50), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Golf and an Opel Astra. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 48-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (2 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance and failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.22‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was icy. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
