On Saturday, 6 December 2014, in the evening at 22:04, in Panevėžys, on Žemuogių street near No. 24, a Volkswagen Passat hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 58-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (35 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance and failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.11‰ blood alcohol). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
