On Sunday, 7 December 2014, in the evening at 20:40, in Rokiškio district municipality, on the Rokiškis–Juodupė–Onuškis–Ilzenbergas regional road (kilometre 28.14), a Volkswagen Passat registered in Sweden ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 19-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.47‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
