On Friday, 10 October 2014, at night at 3:40, in Kaunas, on Kovo 11-osios street, at the junction with V. Krėvės pr., a Volkswagen Golf ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 20-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
