On Saturday, 20 December 2014, in the morning at 7:30, in Šilalės district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 227.63), a Toyota Corolla Verso hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 45-year-old driver of the Toyota (15 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was raining, the road surface was contaminated. The speed limit on this section is 110 km/h.
