On Sunday, 18 January 2015, at night at 0:06, in Pagėgių municipality, on the Kaunas–Jurbarkas–Šilutė–Klaipėda national road (kilometre 144.50), a BMW 316 rolled over. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 17-year-old driver of the BMW, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (0.57‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. A 20-year-old passenger of the BMW was drunk (0.34‰). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was icy. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
