On Monday, 26 January 2015, in the afternoon at around 14:00, in Kaunas, on Žeimenos street, at the junction with P. Lukšio street, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Passat and a Mercedes-Benz E 290 Turbodiesel. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 49-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (17 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
