On Saturday, 7 February 2015, at night at around 23:00, in Alytaus district municipality, on the Alytus–Simnas–Kalvarija national road (kilometre 31.27), a DAF FT XF105.460 registered in Poland ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 39-year-old driver of the DAF (a citizen of Poland) (19 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, there was a blizzard, the road surface was icy. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
