On Saturday, 7 February 2015, in the evening at 22:47, in Raseinių district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 196.30), a Volvo FH registered in Poland ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 35-year-old driver of the Volvo (a citizen of Romania) (13 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, there was freezing rain, the road surface was icy. The speed limit on this section is 80 km/h.
