On Sunday, 8 February 2015, in the afternoon at around 15:00, in Kazlų Rūdos municipality, on the Kazlų Rūda–Pažėrai regional road (kilometre 4.90), a Renault Megane Coupe ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 23-year-old driver of the Renault (1 year of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.23‰ blood alcohol). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was icy. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
