On Tuesday, 10 February 2015, in the afternoon at around 15:00, in Kauno district municipality, on the Kaunas–Jurbarkas–Šilutė–Klaipėda national road (kilometre 14.20), a Volkswagen Passat hit an obstacle. One person was injured — the 40-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 40-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (20 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.56‰ blood alcohol). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
