On Friday, 13 February 2015, in the evening at 19:15, in Trakų district municipality, on the Vilnius–Varėna–Gardinas main road (kilometre 19.68), a Volkswagen Passat rolled over. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 56-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (37 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.54‰ blood alcohol). At the time of the accident it was dark, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
