On Friday, 27 February 2015, in the morning at around 9:00, in Kaunas, on Kovo 11-osios street near No. 45A, a Mazda 626 hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 70-year-old driver of the Mazda (30 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
