On Friday, 6 March 2015, at night at around 3:00, in Pasvalio district municipality, on the Panevėžys–Pasvalys–Ryga main road (kilometre 20.25), a DAF registered in Turkey ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 55-year-old driver of the DAF (a citizen of Turkey) (36 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, the weather was clear, the road surface was icy. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
