On Saturday, 7 March 2015, at night at 23:40, in Lazdijų district municipality, Seirijų town, on Metelių street near No. 1, an Opel Vectra hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person was injured — a 18-year-old pedestrian (severely injured, hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 16-year-old driver of the Opel, who committed other traffic rule violations. He was drunk (1.20‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident it was dark, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
