On Monday, 9 March 2015, in the evening at 19:53, in Radviliškio district municipality, Karčemų village, on the Raseiniai–Tytuvėnai–Radviliškis national road (kilometre 62), at a railway crossing, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Fiat Punto and a BMW 525. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 22-year-old driver of the Fiat, who failed to keep a safe distance and failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.71‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
