On Sunday, 22 March 2015, in the evening at around 19:00, in Elektrėnų municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 28), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved an Audi A4 and a Renault F. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 39-year-old driver of the Audi, who committed other traffic rule violations, failed to keep a safe distance and was driving a vehicle with faults the traffic rules prohibit driving with. He was drunk (1.85‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was twilight, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 110 km/h.
