On Wednesday, 25 March 2015, in the evening at 22:02, in Druskininkų municipality, on the Druskininkai–Leipalingis–Seirijai national road (kilometre 9.90), a Volkswagen Touareg hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by a 15-year-old pedestrian, who was walking at night without reflectors (light, hi-vis vest) and was walking on the carriageway where prohibited. He was drunk (2.21‰ blood alcohol). The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
