On Saturday, 28 March 2015, in the evening at 19:30, in Kaunas, on Islandijos pl. near No. 32, at a yard or parking-lot exit, a traffic accident occurred. The accident involved a Volvo XC90 and an Audi A4. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 38-year-old driver of the Volvo (22 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
