On Friday, 3 April 2015, in the afternoon at 15:36, in Šalčininkų district municipality, on the Vilnius–Lyda main road (kilometre 27.11), a Renault Laguna ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 45-year-old driver of the Renault, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.88‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
