On Monday, 11 May 2015, in the morning at 5:54, in Švenčionių district municipality, Čerėnų village, on lauko street near No. 41, a Mitsubishi Pajero ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 16-year-old driver of the Mitsubishi, who exceeded the speed set by traffic rules or road signs and failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.37‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
