On Monday, 18 May 2015, at night at 4:22, in Radviliškio district municipality, on the Panevėžys–Šiauliai main road (kilometre 63.08), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. Eight people were injured — the 23-year-old driver of the Opel (hospitalized), the 22-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz (hospitalized), a 23-year-old passenger of the Mercedes-Benz (hospitalized), a 24-year-old passenger of the Mercedes-Benz (hospitalized), a 20-year-old passenger of the Mercedes-Benz (hospitalized), a 24-year-old passenger of the Mercedes-Benz (hospitalized), a 29-year-old passenger of the Mercedes-Benz (hospitalized) and a 22-year-old passenger of the Mercedes-Benz (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 23-year-old driver of the Opel (2 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance and failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.64‰ blood alcohol). At the time of the accident it was twilight, there was freezing rain, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 120 km/h.
