On Saturday, 30 May 2015, in the evening at 19:40, in Zarasų district municipality, on the Lupenka–Turmantas–Tilžė regional road (kilometre 11.50), a Renault 19 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 23-year-old driver of the Renault, who committed other traffic rule violations and failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.20‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident it was overcast, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
