On Sunday, 31 May 2015, in the morning at 10:40, in Šilutės district municipality, Degučių village, on Mirglono street near No. 19, in a yard, a Toyota Avensis registered in Finland hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 29-year-old driver of the Toyota (a citizen of Fiji) (11 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
