On Tuesday, 23 June 2015, in the evening at around 17:00, in Širvintų district municipality, on the Vilnius–Panevėžys (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 44.30), a BMW 320 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 23-year-old driver of the BMW (5 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
