On Friday, 10 July 2015, in the evening at 19:35, in Šilalės district municipality, Šilų village, on the LaukuvaVŠilalė national road (kilometre 13.69), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a BMW 316 and a Peugeot 806. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 19-year-old driver of the BMW, who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (2.46‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
