On Monday, 6 July 2015, in the evening at 20:32, in Elektrėnų municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 55), a BMW 535 D hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 22-year-old driver of the BMW (4 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 120 km/h.
