On Saturday, 11 July 2015, in the evening at 21:10, in Joniškio district municipality, on the Ryga–Šiauliai–Tauragė–Kaliningradas main road (kilometre 13), a Volkswagen Golf ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 20-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence. The driver was sober.
