On Wednesday, 12 August 2015, in the morning at around 7:00, in Anykščių district municipality, Gerkonių village, a Ford Mondeo ran off the road. Two people were injured — the 18-year-old driver of the Ford (hospitalized) and an 21-year-old other (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 18-year-old driver of the Ford, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.49‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
