On Thursday, 12 November 2015, at night at around 1:00, in Varėnos district municipality, on the Antakalnis–Jieznas–Alytus–Merkinė national road (kilometre 76.10), a Nissan P11 (NISSAN PRIMERA) L rolled over. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 22-year-old driver of the Nissan (2 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.80‰ blood alcohol). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
