On Saturday, 14 November 2015, in the afternoon at 12:21, in Molėtų district municipality, on the Vilnius–Utena main road (kilometre 53), a Mitsubishi Outlander ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 58-year-old driver of the Mitsubishi (25 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.31‰ blood alcohol). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
