On Tuesday, 17 November 2015, in the evening at 17:40, in Klaipėdos district municipality, on the Kaunas–Jurbarkas–Šilutė–Klaipėda national road (kilometre 205.60), a Toyota Land Cruiser registered in Latvia hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 60-year-old driver of the Toyota (20 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
