On Thursday, 26 November 2015, in the evening at around 18:00, in Rietavo municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 249.55), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Mitsubishi Carisma and a Volkswagen Passat. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 43-year-old driver of the Mitsubishi (9 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 110 km/h.
