On Monday, 4 January 2016, in the evening at around 19:00, in Lazdijų district municipality, Seiliūnų village, on the Alytus–Seirijai–Lazdijai national road (kilometre 18.58), a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved a Mitsubishi Space Star and a Nissan Qashqai. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 47-year-old driver of the Mitsubishi (17 years of driving experience), who was driving a vehicle with faults the traffic rules prohibit driving with. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
