On Monday, 18 January 2016, in the afternoon at around 16:00, in Anykščių district municipality, on the Molėtai–Anykščiai national road (kilometre 41), a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved a car and an Audi A4 Avant. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 41-year-old driver of a car (15 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed and entered the oncoming traffic lane.
