On Tuesday, 19 January 2016, in the afternoon at 13:30, in Druskininkų municipality, on Veisiejų street, at the junction with Ateities street, a Volkswagen hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 18-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties and was driving a vehicle with faults the traffic rules prohibit driving with.
