On Tuesday, 19 January 2016, in the evening at 20:25, in Kelmės district municipality, on the Verpena–Šalteniai–Ramučiai regional road (kilometre 5.40), a Volkswagen Transporter rolled over. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 41-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.07‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was snowing, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
