On Friday, 22 January 2016, in the afternoon at around 12:00, in Rietavo municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 249.90), a Toyota Auris hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 30-year-old driver of the Toyota (12 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. She was drunk (1.67‰ blood alcohol). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 110 km/h.
