On Sunday, 24 January 2016, in the afternoon at 14:10, in Pasvalio district municipality, Svirpliškio village, on the Ustukiai–Šimoniai–Stipinai regional road (kilometre 3.90), a Volkswagen Touareg ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 35-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (16 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober.
