On Tuesday, 2 February 2016, at night at around 1:00, in Alytaus district municipality, on the Alytus–Seirijai–Lazdijai national road (kilometre 12), an Opel Zafira registered in Netherlands ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 37-year-old driver of the Opel (21 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, it was snowing, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
