On Tuesday, 2 February 2016, in the evening at around 19:00, in Biržų district municipality, on the Biržai–Obelaukiai regional road (kilometre 2.50), a Fiat Brava ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 24-year-old driver of the Fiat (6 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.56‰ blood alcohol). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
