On Monday, 8 February 2016, in the evening at 22:38, in Alytaus district municipality, on Daugų street near No. 5, a BMW 520 hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 20-year-old driver of the BMW, who committed other traffic rule violations and failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was icy. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
