On Friday, 19 February 2016, in the evening at 21:41, in Šiaulių district municipality, on the Ryga–Šiauliai–Tauragė–Kaliningradas main road (kilometre 66), a BMW 520 registered in Russia hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 47-year-old driver of the BMW (21 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober.
