On Friday, 19 February 2016, in the evening at 21:50, in Šilalės district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 208.30), an Audi A4 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 39-year-old driver of the Audi (18 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, it was snowing, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 110 km/h.
